The Benefits of Basketball Summer Camp

While the summer is often a time for vacation and traditional style camps, a focused Basketball summer camp is a great way for kids of all ages to improve their skills, learn new techniques, and have fun playing a game they love. Before talking about why a basketball summer camp is so great and beneficial, it is important to make sure you are choosing the right camp for you!

When choosing a basketball summer camp, there are a few considerations to keep in mind such as the age and skill level of your child, the location of the camp and the cost of the camp. Luckily for those in Bergen County and the surrounding areas, Stack Sports offers a 10-week basketball camp that accepts children from beginner to advanced skill levels and ensures the itinerary caters to all. It is also reasonably priced offering daily or weekly packages as well as before care and after care to make it accessible to those with the most difficult of schedules.

However, the most important thing may be the reputation of the camp. The best way to get that feedback is both by reading reviews of the camp online and talking to other parents who have sent their children to the camp. This will help you get a sense of the quality of the instruction and the overall experience. At Stack we pride ourselves on our professional, experienced and courteous staff that prioritize safety and extending the positive Stack experience and teaching philosophy to all our members.

Now that we have considered how we choose a camp, it is important to understand the benefits that can be expected while attending basketball summer camp.

Most people will choose a basketball camp to specifically improve their basketball fundamentals, such as shooting, dribbling, passing, and rebounding. After a number of weeks, more advanced techniques will be taught, such as pick-and-rolls and zone defenses. Since playing basketball at camp is at an informal environment, it can help young athletes build their confidence and self-esteem. They will get to compete against other players of their own age and skill level, and they will receive positive reinforcement from their coaches and teammates. In additional to learning from coaches, they can learn from other players whom are passionate about the game as well.

Additionally, and most importantly basketball camp competitive games foster an environment of fun competition and an opportunity to meet new people and create a welcoming social environment.

Stack Sports had the opportunity to offer a 10-week camp from June through early September to families from Upstate NY, all parts of New Jersey and even as far as NYC. It was pleasure to have over 500 young athletes spend their summer at Stack and develop their skills and meet new friends.

Basketball summer camp can be a great way for kids to improve their skills, learn new techniques, and have fun playing the game they love. If you are looking for a way to help your child reach their full potential in basketball, then a summer camp like Stack is a great option!
